Wonderful Industry was established in 2008, being the first company in Zambia to produce PVC decoration materials (Wonderful Ceiling). The company quickly opened up the Zambian decorative materials market with its excellent product quality and advantages of localized production. The sales of ceiling products surged in that year, which made Wonderful Ceiling a household name brand in Zambia and the company the first Chinese company to produce brand-name products in Zambia. Marcopolo Tiles Company Limited (MTCL) is the first integrated tile and sanitary ware manufacturing company in Zambia, and the first to produce porcelain tiles in the region. This revolutionary investment produces high quality ISO 9001:2015 certified products for interior and exterior decorations. It was incorporated in Zambia on the 8th July 2016, and commenced production in 2017, with an installed capacity of 10,800,000 square meters of tiles per annum. In 2021, the company completed the construction of a new factory, which manufactures sanitary ware, kitchenware and decorative ornaments. The Company currently employees over 1000 employees.
Bofffar Machinery and Equipment Zambia Limited was established in 2013 and supplies industrial and medical equipment as well as equipment consumables for commercial and medical use. The company also produces processed timber products. The company will soon venture into corporate real estate business with the construction of thirteen storey commercial building underway. In response to the high cost of fertilizer in Zambia, a new investment has been established which aims to produce fertilizer directly from local raw materials, in particular coal. Unlike the current fertilizer factories in Zambia, which produce fertilizer from raw materials imported from outside Zambia, United Capital Fertilizer Company Zambia Limited will be the first Zambian company to produce fertilizer straight from locally sourced coal materials.
This investment was established in 2020 to produce high quality silk fabric for export and is located in Mpika district. The investment includes mulberry plantation farms for feeding silk worms and productions facilities for processing silkworm cocoons into silk fabric. Trial production commenced in June 2021 and commercial production commenced in February 2022. In 2022, USD10m will be invested into Mupika Sericulture in order to expand the plantation by 2000 hectares of mulberry trees and increase production facilities. The additional investment will result in 1,500 additional workers being employed.
